Customized Automatic NFC Antenna & Housing
Assembly Machine for a Mexico Electronics Manufacturer
Project Overview
A leading global lighting and electronics manufacturer in Mexico required an automation solution for its NFC antenna and housing assembly process.
Before automation, the assembly process relied on manual operations, including component handling, positioning, fixture loading, and pressing. To address these requirements, ReachingEA designed and manufactured a customized automatic assembly machine integrating product assembly as well as loading and unloading operations.

Customer Challenge
The original assembly process was performed manually. Operators were required to handle the housing and NFC antenna components, position them for assembly, load multiple units onto the fixture, and perform the pressing operation.
- High labor dependency
- Manual assembly operations
- Repetitive manual work
- The need to standardize the assembly process
- Increasing production volume
- The need for consistent assembly quality
- The need to improve production capacity
The Automation Machine process could achieve approximately 900 pcs/hour
Before Automation
Manual NFC Antenna & Housing Assembly. The original process involved manually assembling the components and performing the pressing operation. Ten units could be loaded onto the fixture at one time.

Reaching EA's Customized Automation Solution
Based on the customer's specific assembly requirements, ReachingEA developed a customized automatic assembly machine. The solution integrates product assembly, fixture-based positioning, multi-unit processing, loading operations, unloading operations, and pressing operations.
- Product assembly
- Fixture-based positioning
- Multi-unit processing
- Loading operations
- Unloading operations
- Pressing operations
The machine was designed and manufactured as a customized solution rather than a standard off-the-shelf machine.
3D Machine Design

Customized 3D design of the automatic NFC antenna and housing assembly machine. The 3D design was developed to visualize the machine structure and automation layout before manufacturing.
How the Assembly Process Works
1. Component Preparation
The housing component is taken from the packaging and prepared for assembly.
2. Housing & NFC Antenna Positioning
The housing is positioned onto the NFC antenna according to the required assembly orientation.
3. Fixture Loading
Ten NFC antenna and housing assemblies are placed onto the fixture.
4. Pressing
The cover is placed over the fixture and the pressing operation is performed to complete the assembly.
5. Fixture Release
After pressing, the cover is removed from the fixture.
6. Product Unloading
The completed assemblies are removed from the fixture and prepared for the next production process.
Actual Machine
The completed machine features a safety enclosure, automated assembly mechanisms, fixture system, feeding components, control system, and loading/unloading structure.

Project Results
The primary objective of the project was to automate repetitive assembly operations and reduce dependence on manual labor, rather than to claim an increase in nominal output.
Reduced Repetitive Manual Work: The customized machine automates repetitive assembly and handling operations that were previously performed manually.
Reduced Labor Dependency: The automated process reduces the need for operators to perform repetitive assembly tasks throughout the production process.
Standardized Assembly Process: The dedicated fixture and controlled machine sequence provide a standardized approach to component positioning, pressing, and assembly.
Stable & Repeatable Operation: The automated process provides a controlled and repeatable assembly workflow for the NFC antenna and housing components.
Machine Productivity: The completed machine achieves a productivity of approximately 900 pcs/hour.
From Customer Requirement to Customized Automation
